  • The medication is not suitable for children and infants below three months of age, those who weigh less than 40 kg should seek the opinion of a doctor regarding the dosage in relation to the weight of the body. Often, they prescribe 20-40 milligrams of the medicine per kg of weight for a day. This dosage should be divided so that it is given every eight hours. The medication could also be recommended based on 25 mg to 45 mg of dosage per kg of body weight, divided for administration every 12 hours.
  • Children below the age of three months should also be administered the medicine with the permission of a doctor. In most cases, they recommend up to 30mg of the medicine for each kilogram of the body weight, which should be divided to administer every 12 hours through the day.
  • If any medicine dosage is missed, preferably it should be taken at the earliest opportunity. However, if it is several hours from the time you missed the dose, it is advisable to skip that dose if the second dosage time is close by. In any case, keep the medicine away from children and should not take the medicine if it has expired.

    Amoxil is one of the commonly used drugs when it comes to the treatment of ear infections and it can be given to anyone including adults, kids, and even infants. It is prescribed to treat several other conditions, but it should also be taken only when advised by a medical practitioner. Special precautions should be taken with the dosage and intake of the medicine only at the right time intervals. This will assist in eliminating adverse reactions that may occur from the intake of the medicine. It should also not be taken without a prescription to minimize the chances of the bacteria developing resistance to the medicine.
