  • Take Laxatives – Mild or herbal laxatives like senna can give you some quick relief from constipation.
  • Drink water – Water can solve most of our problems, and drinking some liquid can make you feel much better.
  • Try Ginger tea – You can consider having a cup of ginger tea or simply crush some ginger and mix with water and drink it. Ginger has long since been a digestive helper, as it reduces the pressure on your intestines.

Apart from these natural remedies for constipation, the best way to avoid the same is to make some simple lifestyle changes. These things can also make you improve your health and wellness in general as well.

  • Stay hydrated
  • Exercise regularly
  • Eat a lot of high fiber food items
  • Reduce dairy consumption
  • Consume prebiotic foods like bananas, onions, garlic, etc.
  • Try yoga and meditation

Apart from home remedies for constipation, there are a number of prescription drugs used to treat constipation, like: 

  • Lubiprostone 
  • Prucalopride 
  • Plecanatide 
  • Lactulose 
  • Linaclotide 

Of course, you should not try taking them without the expert advice of a doctor.

You can try home remedies that can provide relief for constipation, or practice simple modification in your life. In very rare and severe cases, treatments for constipation include measures like surgery.
